· WANNA BE A FOOTBALLER -
SAFEGUARDING NOTICE
Dear Welfare Officer
A number of you have contacted me concerned about a website ‘Wannabe A
Footballer’. This site offers the opportunity for any age range to set up a
personal profile page, make scouts aware of where and when they are playing. It
also allows clubs to advertise for players. It appears this invitation to get
involved with ‘Wannabe A Footballer’ has been circulated widely across the
County. ‘Wannabe A Footballer’ has been contacted and to date there has been no
response.
It is recommended that anyone wishing to make use of a site setting up meetings
with players asks the following questions and then decide for themselves if
they consider this opportunity poses any risks to those U18:
- Does the site provide a
clear understanding and commitment to safeguarding?
- Is there guidance available
for parents/carers and young people regarding safeguards that they have
put in place or recommend you put in place?
- Does the site explain who
will have access to your data?
- Do you know who the site is
proposing will be told when and where your child is playing football?
- Does the site confirm that
the ‘Scouts’ who may be asked to view your son/daughter playing are
appropriately qualified and have safeguarding training and maybe have a
CRB check?
If you wish to talk to me further regarding this matter, please do not hesitate
to contact me.
Regards
Joanna

· BLACKPOOL SUMMER TOURNAMENT
I have pleasure in announcing the Bispham Junior Football Federation (BJFF)
Annual Summer Football Tournament for 2010, which will be held over the Bank
Holiday Weekend, from Saturday 28th - Monday 30th August.
This year we have extended our football festival to 3-full days, encompassing
football opportunities for the Under 7's - Under 15's age groups. Please NOTE
as this is the final pre-season tournament for next season, we will be using
the 2010 / 2011 season for all age group competitions.
On Saturday 28th August, the Under 8’s and 10’s will play 7-A-Side mini soccer,
whilst the Under 12’s will play 11-A-Side.
On Sunday 29th August, the Under 7’s and 9’s will play 7-A-Side mini soccer,
with the Under 11’s playing 11-A-Side.
On Bank Holiday Monday 30th August, there will be an additional competition for
the Under 11’s with a Lancashire FA backed pilot 9-A-Side competition taking
place (*teams who wish to take part in the Sunday AND Monday competitions are
more than welcome), whilst we introduce 6-A-Side football for the older age
groups with Under 13’s, Under 14’s and Under 15’s competitions taking place.
Please find attached an invitation >> (See attached file: BJFF 2010 -
Invitation Letter v1.0.doc) and tournament application / entry form >>
(See attached file: BJFF 2010 - Application Form v1.0.doc) Entry fees are £35 per
team or you can enter two teams into the same age group competition for £60
(cheques to be made payable to “BJFF”).
If you would like to apply for a place in our tournament, please complete and
return the application form together with your entry fee. We will hold all
application forms received via e-mail for a period of 14 days, whilst payment
is sent via the post (alternatively, if you would like to pay by bank transfer,
please get in touch for our bank details). The deadline for applications is Friday
23rd July 2010, although please note that last year we filled most of the age
group competitions early in the Year.

have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Kind Regards,
Andy (BJFF Tournament Coordinator)
